Articulation Homework Tracker

Daily Speech Therapy Practice Tracker
Consistent home practice is one of the strongest predictors of progress in articulation therapy. Research supports short, frequent practice sessions (5-10 minutes daily) over longer, less frequent sessions. This printable homework tracker helps caregivers and students stay organized and build a daily practice habit.
What This Tracker Includes
The homework tracker is a one-page printable PDF with a structured table for recording daily practice. Each row includes space for:
- Date β when the practice session occurred
- Target Sound β the specific sound or phoneme being practiced (e.g., /r/, /s/, /th/)
- Activity Type β what kind of practice was done (word lists, sentences, reading aloud, conversation)
- Minutes Practiced β how long the session lasted
- Parent/Caregiver Notes β observations about accuracy, engagement, or challenges
The tracker includes approximately 15 rows, enough for two to three weeks of daily practice before printing a new copy.
How to Use This Tracker
Print the tracker and keep it in a visible location β many families find the refrigerator or a homework folder works well. After each practice session, fill in one row together with your child. At your next therapy session, bring the completed tracker so your SLP can review practice patterns and adjust the home program as needed.
Tips for Building a Practice Routine
Start with a consistent time each day β right after school or before bedtime works for many families. Keep sessions short and positive. Use the notes column to celebrate successes (βSaid /r/ in βrabbitβ perfectly three times!β) rather than only tracking difficulties. Even two to three minutes of focused practice counts toward building new speech habits.
